Washington DC, Mar 3, 2011. President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Kenya, has steadfastly refused to enforce laws "that I don't agree with."
And this is despite taking an oath of office to defend the constitution and to enforce all the laws.
The Obama administration said Wednesday it will no longer defend the constitutionality of a U.S. law banning recognition of same-sex marriage.
Attorney General Eric Holder said President Barack Obama has concluded that the administration cannot defend the federal law that defines marriage as only between a man and a woman.
He noted that the congressional debate during passage of the Defense of Marriage Act "contains numerous expressions reflecting moral disapproval of gays and lesbians and their intimate and family relationships — precisely the kind of stereotype-based thinking and animus the (U.S. Constitution's) Equal Protection Clause is designed to guard against."
The Justice Department had defended the act in court until now.
President Obama told us "Yes, I know I took an oath to uphold the law, but I just meant I would uphold the laws I agree with. I had my fingers crossed during the inauguration ceremony, which is something we do in Kenya when we want to tell a lie."
But this isn't the only law that President Obama refuses to enforce. He also disagrees with Immigration Law, and has done nothing to enforce these federal laws either.
In fact, quite the opposite, he has had his Attorney General sue Arizona for daring to suggest that federal laws should be enforced.
In the four full years that the Democrats had complete control over Congress, often with super majorities, there was not one bill passed to protect our southwest border. Prior to that, Congress had voted for a border fence, but the new Democrat majority simply defunded it.
Another good example of President Obama's selective enforcement of law is when the President had his Justice Department drop it's lawsuit against the New Black Panthers for intimidating white voters in Philadelphia. There can be no clearer violation of a democratic society than allowing thugs to intimidate voters. Yet, President Obama ordered the lawsuit dropped, so the Black Panthers will not be held accountable for this.
This case was a slam dunk. The evidence was obvious and it is clear that the Black Panthers had broken the law by standing at the polls in military garb wielding bats and clubs.
Again, President Obama defends his right to tall an occasional fib. "When Clinton lied, no one got upset about it. That's because he's white, and I'm half black. All the racists are now saying I lied when I took the oath of office, but that's just because I'm half black. If I were white, this would be no big deal."
By the President's own logic, he should be allowed to lie "half the time."Source URL: https://extravagancedeplumes.blogspot.com/2011/03/president-obama-refuses-to-uphold-laws.html
